I'm going to get a 2 year degree in Computers at a trade school like ITT since I don't have good math skills. My math skill level is highest as a 7th grade. Some people told me that i would be working at mcdonalds flipping burgers for the rest of my life. I won't be working at mcdonalds because that job won't help me to support my wife when i bring her over from Vietnam, I'm vietnamese. How come people think that i'm going to be working at mcdonalds when i would have a 2 year education ?
get a degree in something else, like english, social studies, language! if your math skills arent great, dont try to get a career in math!
plus, there are other careers if you have only 2 yrs education , mcdonalds isnt the only option!!! you know steve jobs didnt go to college!
How come you keep asking these inane questions?
Here's the thing, if you want to work with computers two points:
1) Avoid ITT like the plague. Go to a community college, they're cheaper than technical colleges and provide a better quality of education
2) If you're not good with math, you probably won't be good with computers (depending on what field you're entering). So I'd skip that. How come people think that i'm going to be working at mcdonalds when i would have a 2 year education ?
I just told a guy called Thomas something similar - how strange?
Work experience is more valuable than a degree you might not get. You want your family soon then get work experience and a good job.
If you are not the same guy then read what I told Thomas too.
I work in the computer business. ITT Tech doesn't have a great reputation.
You are better off working on specific certs like MCITP or some of the Cisco things. It will be OK after you get a job for a few years, but that first one is going to be tough. How come people think that i'm going to be working at mcdonalds when i would have a 2 year education ?
NO TAKE YOUR MATH CLASSES BEFORE YOU GET INTO THAT....JUST BECAUSE YOU SUCK AT MATH DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL BE WORKING AT MCDONALD'S..USUALLY PEOPLE WHO SUCK AT MATH DO WELL IN LAW CLASSES..WHY NOT TRY DO SOMETHING IN LAW FIELD...YOU CAN BE A POLICE OFFICER..WORK FOR FBI OR A LAWYER...MATH SUCKS I KNOW IAM NOT GOOD AT IT BUT I GOT A TWO YEAR DEGREE...DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM..
Because you keep failing to understand the concept of categories and that this is specifically the Religion and Spirituality section.
It doesn't bode well for you intelligence which, in turn, doesn't bode well for you career...
If you are going to be on this forum you have to be tough.
There are rude , nasty, troubled people.
It sounds like you have a good plan. Good luck.
(Actually working at McDonalds is a great place to learn MANY job skills.)
Because some people are negative and lack ambition, so think positive and ignore people like this. Go for it, and good luck to you and your wife.
It's just a derogatory way of people to make fun of others. Since Mcdonalds has a track record of hiring unskilled labour.
You will still need to know some math and maybe even some Boolean algebra. Maybe now that you are older, math will make more sense to you. Good luck!
Your McDegree might help you some. It all depends on you.
Start your own restaurant, then buy a McDonald's. Don't sell yourself short.
What does this have to do with religion?
i think u meant to ask this in the R%26amp;S section
A lot of young people are opting for a two year technical degree. Mechanics make upwards of $80 if they have their own shop. Computer repairmen charge up to $100 an hour. Plumbers top out at $150 per hour.
Why do you care what other people think? No matter what you do someone is going to think you're an idiot and someone else is going to think you're a saint. Live to please God and yourself (and maybe your wife or parents). There is a story about a man and his son who went to market in the city one day. On the way there the father was riding the donkey and the son was walking at their side. A passerby said, "Look at that strong man riding while his poor son walks!" So the father put his son on the donkey and the father walked. Later a passerby said, "Look at that healthy young man riding while his poor old father walks! So they both rode the donkey. Later a passerby said, "Look at those two men breaking that poor donkey's back by riding him together." The father and son got a pole, tied the donkey's legs together and carried him to market. As they were crossing a bridge the rushing water scared the donkey and it kicked until the boy dropped his side of the pole and the donkey fell off the bridge into the rushing water and drowned. So by listening to others instead of following their own hearts the two men lost their donkey....
