If i paid federal income taxes through my jobs in 2007, do i get the $600 tax rebate?

im 17, i work at target, since july of 2007, and worked at McDonalds through April 2007. and i paid Federal income taxes in both jobs, so if the proposal is passed, will i get $600?If i paid federal income taxes through my jobs in 2007, do i get the $600 tax rebate?
If you are claimed as a dependent, your parents will be eligible for the additional $300 rebate for you as a dependent child.

You would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much in Federal Income Tax. If you only paid $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you only get back $350.

If you had over $3000 in income, you would qualify for the $300 minimum.

While the rebate depends on your 2007 income, it is actually a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the proposed plan, in 2008, taxes would be cut from 10 percent to zero percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.

It's like a one time tax cut for 2008, but you get the rebate now instead of waiting to file your 2008 taxes.

Because this is an advance payment on your 2008 taxes, your refund next year could be more (or less!) depending on your 2008 income.

Nothing has passed Congress yet, so all details are subject to change. Check out the referenced sites below for more info.
That would depend on what the proposal is that ends up being passed. Since that isn't finalized, there's no way to say whether or not you'll get anything. If i paid federal income taxes through my jobs in 2007, do i get the $600 tax rebate?
You most likely are claimed as a dependent on your parent's income tax. In that case you would probably not get the rebate. The specifics aren't out because the proposal has not passed yet.

The other qualifier is that you need to have at least $3,000 in earned income to qualify.

Read all about it.If i paid federal income taxes through my jobs in 2007, do i get the $600 tax rebate?
They're still working on the proposal, and it might not happen at all. It sounds like, if you earned at least $3,000 last year, you should get the "rebate." But getting that money now will probably affect how much you get back (or have to pay) next year.

What kind of jobs are available at the age of 16?

I'm going to get my GCSE results soon, and i was just wondering if theres any decently paid jobs i could go into to make a bit of extra money? I don't want to work in mcdonalds or anything like that, its crapppp.

I'm a pretty responsible guy so i can be trusted, but everyone has this little stereotype going round these days about people my age that we're all stupid and moronic.

Any suggestions? What kind of jobs are available at the age of 16?
Being a previous manager, I can attest to that stereotype. But On the other hand, I was once in your shoes. I started working at Mcdonald's, and when I gained enough exp. I then moved to a bookstore.

The bookstore was the best and they paid me highest first.

Also try supermarkets (Trader Joe's/Safeway), Fedex/UPS, and Starbucks - which give you a chance to move up after a certain amount of time. Not many people will take you if you are a minor because of hour restrictions and lack of experience. But if you are smart, a good worker, and you show them your desire to work, then that's really all you need to win them over. As with every stereotype there is an exception.

Good luck!
Well there's shop work which isn't as bad as mcdonalds. I'm 17 and work for sainsbury, I get 拢4.88 an hour but I may get a bit more than you as I'm older and have A-Levels and I live in inner city London (51p more an hour)

There's also cafes, paper rounds, some offices hire 'coffee boys/girls', babysitting, bar work (that doesn't involve selling alcohol, some leisure parks hire 16 year olds, Thorpe park, swimming baths, Butlins.

There are also some websites that pay you to take surveys, but trust me; this really isn't worth it.

Also, gumtree is pretty good for finding Saturday jobs.

Hope you find something, and I hope this is more relevent as I actually live in the UK.What kind of jobs are available at the age of 16?
Not a whole lot. More oppertunities arise once you turn 18 and even more after that after your 21.

It doesnt matter how responsible you are or arent. Bottom line is that your 16 and have no formal work experience or skills to speak of from an employers point of view. Your going to have to prove your worth just like everyone else.

My first job was working as a hostess for a resturant and it was basically for a quarter over minimum wage. You can work in a resturant that doesnt serve alcohol (18+ where I am)as a waiter or be a host. Retail shops although some are 18+ again. Grocery stores, cashier spots pay decent. Fast food is always open. Your going to be pretty limited really.
with the economy today, take what you can get, mcdonalds or otherwise. You're a kid. Go around your area and fill out applications, then depending on how much you want to work and need money, you take what you can get.

pretty much any fast food place will hire kids that are 16.

other that that, ...not much. Unless you do stuff around neighborhood, lawnmowing, ....errands, ....babysitting, ...snow shoveling, whatever.

and by the way, ? most places dont really care how "smart" you are , a 16 yr old, is a 16 yr old. What kind of jobs are available at the age of 16?
Hi there,

I鈥檝e been a member of a site called Treasure Trooper for a while, and it鈥檚 great. You get paid to complete offers and surveys, and you can also receive a certain amount of cash back from online stores when you buy from them through a link from Treasure Trooper. There are monthly Treasure Hunts, and there are always lots of competitions on the forums and on the main site. You can get paid via PayPal, or through a cheque, and the best part of all of this is that it鈥檚 totally FREE.

For more information check out my Squidoo page about Treasure Trooper:

Show them your smart, go in with a resume and be polite and well dressed. Try applying at places like car dealerships (for the inside office stuff) or an insurance company or even the movie theatre. You could become a manager fast if you work hard and show them your not just another 16 year old kid. Good luck!
i'm thirteen and i have a job for some money for college and what i do is i referee sports. it sounds really stupid, but you actually make pretty good money. you can pretty much do it for any sport that you like. i do it or soccer, and i really enjoyed it.
work in a resturant (5 stars) that has waiters and work as a waiter you'll get paid about 6-9$ an hour and the best part is there are alot of rich customers and they leave a tip most of the times its great.
You can work at a camp ? But it might be too late.

At your age you will get payed well atleast where I work.

You can also be a life gaurd.. at a pool; haha.

AE, A%26amp;F, Hollister ectt. you get discounts if you work for those stores. House sit.
Mostly everything in the field of food service is open to sixteen year olds. Also, try your local mall or any shopping centers, there are usually openings near the end of summer for jobs.
See link below.
Honestly, ask around relatives and friends/friends of the family, see if they know anyone who has anything for you. Not many random employers want to hire a 16 year old for a "good" job. Good luck.
fastfood, retail anything that does not involve alchohol, anything that you can build experience with, tutoring at a school near you
You could try to find an internship program at some office, its a good job and it looks amazing on any future application you fill out

and im 16 and i be turning 17 next year.Is getting a job at mcdonalds a good idea?
I would go to the nearest McDonalds and ask them how to apply overseas.

Also, I believe every job is what you make of it. We can happily do our work or we can drag our feet and be determined to hate it, its our choice! Every job has those parts we do not like as well, but if we make up our mind to make our self happy, then we are half way there! Is getting a job at mcdonalds a good idea?
No i worked there it sucked

  • What kind of Jobs DONT do Record Checks on people?

I have a NJ 2C:39-5 Conviction and im looking for work. I worked at McDonalds as a Cashier and id like to again, i did well.

Any Jobs i can get in this circumstance?

NJ = "3rd Degree Crime," Can mean whatever it wants...

Im going to be 28 this year. Thanks. What kind of Jobs DONT do Record Checks on people?
Get a job such as McDonalds, Wal Mart for right now. In the meantime learn a trade. I know a few people plumber, mechanic, carpenter and mason all of who have a criminal record and all of whom make more than 60K a year.
Six FlagsWhat kind of Jobs DONT do Record Checks on people?
A job you would never want!

More seriously, most virtual assistant jobs and jobs offered by small companies. Check Craigslist.
no cluee, i think like amusment parks im not sureWhat kind of Jobs DONT do Record Checks on people?
    Roofing
most fastfood/restaurant places aren't going to do background checks on you unless you straight applied for management...being a waiter is the easiest job to get..I'm in College right now and a waiter..half the people who work with me have bad things on their record and couldn't get a job elsewhere...you could look into that
Quick, minimum wage or low wage jobs you can get from temporary agencies...not reputable one's but the kind that will pay you the same day...they don't even verify employment history...just a warm body w/ two hands is all they want. Look up the website for Labor Ready. You can at least get a chance to work for honest pay.
Can you work at McDonald's again?

My son has some convictions and has worked at several foodservice establishments.

Many construction people have criminal histories.
well i don't know the unlawful possession of a weapon is serious and yes most places do checks
Not everyone checks records, look for a job in manufacturing they are good with that and if you take the job seriously and put in hard work and take some college classes you can excel in the company. Good Luck
I don't know any specific jobs but you just have to find one that is "under the table" which means that they don't check backgrounds, they don't report that you even work there, and they pay you in cash without doing any taxes at all. There are some here in MA but I'm not sure about connecticut. All I can think of offhand is babysitting or dog walking or something like that but I'm sure that there is more around that you could find. Usually lots of small businesses are under the table so that they don't have to report who works for them so it is good for everybody. I worked at a corn stand that was under the table and i have also babysat but I'm sure that you can find something.
I would think it would be a job with little customer contact and little access to people's property. I am thinking things like outdoor construction, outdoor maintanence (parks, roadwork, landscaping, etc...)
Maybe you should just interview for a job and be honest, tell them what you did and that your trying to change and you need a good job to rebuild your life

If McDonalds calls you for a interview does that mean you got the job?

I sent in a application to McDonalds 3 days later (today) they call me to come in for a interview for tomorrow. Because its a Fast Food job Does that mean i got the job if they call me like that.If McDonalds calls you for a interview does that mean you got the job?
no, i had a mcdonald's interview and really connected

with the interviewer and pretty much fer shured it myself

and then he called me and told me they decided to go another way.
no, it means they want to talk to you and think you might be the person they are looking for. i got lucky, and ive had 1 job interview, and was hired on the spot, but you cant expect that to happen.

any help would be greatly appreciated

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>If McDonalds calls you for a interview does that mean you got the job?
No, it just means they want to ask you questions to learn more about you. If they like you, they will either tell you right after the interview or call you telling you that you got the job.
No, it means they want to talk to you and see if you seem to be a good potential employee.

Good luck.If McDonalds calls you for a interview does that mean you got the job?
no but if you make a good impression there's a chance.
