How many jobs do I apply to before getting a job?

I have been job hunting for almost a year now. I have applied to almost every where. I don't know where else to apply. I re-apply to places I did a few months ago. I am 17 and have only had 5 interviews and I'm not sure how do I land a job. I have applied to McDonalds around my city and I have not had a word from them. I do tell them that I am homeschooled and have a very flexible schedule. I'm not sure what else should I be saying?How many jobs do I apply to before getting a job?
Not like you have to have allot of experience to work at a fast food place. All you can do is just apply. Follow up a month out. Right now its hard for anyone to get a job.
