How do i get a job at like Mcdonalds, KFC, Tesco, Asda, corner shops etc?

Like do i just go in randomly and ask if they have any jobs at the counter?? what do??? My friends have jobs at these places but embarrased to ask lol! Im 17 years old and i want the job for the summer. Do you think its a good idea to apply now? thankyou. How do i get a job at like Mcdonalds, KFC, Tesco, Asda, corner shops etc?
Wear something smart and respectful and literally walk in and ask to speak to the manager regarding an application for employment form.
Go in to wherever you want to work and ask to see a manager. Ask the manager if they are hiring - not some random kid working there. When or if they say yes, you ask for an application and can either fill it out there, or bring it back. When you bring it back, or are done filling it out, ask for the manager again and hand them your application directly.

Some tips: DRESS NICE AND APPROPRIATELY - they look for responsible applicants so dress modestly and business casual (no jeans, think khakis and nice shirt) First impressions are huge - and will make or break your opportunity with wherever they go. Also, I would recommend filling it out there if you can so the manager remembers your face and can connect that to your application. Most important, be confident and outgoing! Walk in there as if you already got the job or are confident in yourself that you will. This does not mean be snobby, be pleasant and nice.

Also, follow-up. If you don't hear from the manager within a week, call the place, ask for the manager and let them know that you were just wondering if that position was still available, if they were able to review your application.

Good luck! Follow these steps and your sure to land a job!

Oh and when it asks on the application what salary you hope for - don't put a number, just put the word 'negotiable' in the box.How do i get a job at like Mcdonalds, KFC, Tesco, Asda, corner shops etc?
corner shops often put up notices if they need staff but it doesn't hurt to ask at the counter. Tesco is easy because they have boards often to advertise open positions and you can get application forms (or ask if there are any they haven't put up yet) at the customer service counter. fast food places i don't really know but again it wouldn't hurt to ask, if you're embarrassed try doing it when you're getting something and just ask casually. And don't forget to check online, i've put the application pages of the ones you mentioned in sources.
yes the earlier you apply the better

you need to create a CV and go to these shops and ask if they have any summer jobs but make sure you talk to a manager or assistant manager, someone who knows what they are doing, you must leave your CV there so they can call you back if you need a summer job.

Things to include in your CV:

Contact info - e-mail phone number address

About you section - general info about yourself and your skills

Qualifications - GCSE'S A - Levels etc

Education (currently)

Work Experience

Previous Jobs

Good Luck!!

Always be polite, wear smart clothingHow do i get a job at like Mcdonalds, KFC, Tesco, Asda, corner shops etc?
I worked in tesco during the christmas holidays on the checkouts, and it was so much fun lol. I know everyone makes fun of checkout people, but it went really fast and i could work 9hours easily without getting bored. Honestly it was probly the best job ive had lol.

For tesco ask at the customer service desk for an application form or you can go on their website and print one off to fill out and then hand that into their customer service desk with your CV. And for the others do the same thing or you can ring up and ask if they have any vacancies and how you would go about applying. That way you wouldnt have to go straight into the store not knowing whats going to happen.

And yes it would definately be a good time to put your CV and application forms out now as they usually start hiring for christma temps around mayish time.

Good luck:)
Honestly, you're going to get a job by what you look like, how well you speak/interact and how well you are doing in school. Further, you have to be able to show how you stick to things (like being on a sports team, being an officer in a club, winning an award, or consistently helping somebody). They don't want to hear you have a vacation two weeks in July, tickets to something one weekend, or need Thursday evenings off.

As distasteful as it seems, you have to put yourself out there. You'll be doing "embarrassing" things on the job- standing in a stupid uniform, asking for money, saying the dumb advertising "Welcome to Subway", smiling while people are unpleasant to you, etc. If you can't get over the hump to walk in and ask to speak with a manager, you'll never be able to work with that manager anyway, will you?

Scrub up, ask to talk with the manager, bring a resume, make eye contact, be gracious when you're rejected (they might call you later).

Don't just fill in applications- it's not a lottery.
Well done for getting out there! You can ask at the counter as these places often give out forms at local branches. Be polite, dress smart and smile! It's always a good idea to have an idea of what's out there. They might not recruit until later in the year for summer though.

You could also look at festivals for summer. They often need litter-pickers during the festival and on the days after, which is a great way to earn some cash.

The website I work for has also got some great articles that might help you. Have a look here: http://www.lovemoney.com/news/ways-to-sa鈥?/a>

All the best,

Charlotte
Just walk up and ask for an application. You don't need an appointment or anything. Places like McDonalds have a hiring day when they do all their interviews. So, you fill out the application and return on that day.

McDonald's actually is a great place to work for a young person like you. The work's hard and pay's not great, but everyone has fun and McDonald's has a great scholarship program

Good luck!
First look at least presentable when you go to the counter nothing fancy but not in sweats either. Ask for an application dont ask if they are hring just assume. Fill the application out in the place you want to work at that way you hand it in right away and it doesnt get messed up. Dont just wait for them to call you call them to incquire about your application so they wont forget about you
Just walk up to the counter/customer information desk and say 'Do you have any job vacancies or application forms I can take away please' And they will most likely say you should hand a CV in or give you a form or tell you there's no vacanciesor they're not hiring.

Hope I helped.

McDonalds have an online application form to fill in by the way.
I guess first you need to find the manager or the highest ranked person available there at the time and ask them if they have any jobs/ interviews (if you wanna go higher in rank than keeping it as a summer job) going.
Go up to the counter and ask politely, "I was wondering if you were hiring; if I could have an application" Either they'll give you an application to fill out, or they'll tell you they're not hiring.

Good luck.
dont bother
yes, you go and ask at the counter
