Why dont americans unionize jobs such as McDonalds and Wal-Mart?

Those companies make millions of dollars a year and could afford to pay their workers 20 dollars an hour and still make a profit without raising costs. Why dont americans unionize jobs such as McDonalds and Wal-Mart?
Because the type of people who work at McDonalds and WalMart can't afford to pay union dues out of their meager paycheck. They all have the opportunity to organize, they choose not too.
How many fast-food and WalMart employees are illegal aliens who do not want to draw attention to themselves?

Mcdonalds is not the kind of place that a union would bother with...not enough money for the time and bother. WalMart will fire union organizers or activist who advocate union representation.

Wal-Mart and McDonald's are greedy and corrupt and have deep connections with political leaders so they can contiue their short changing the workers. Why dont americans unionize jobs such as McDonalds and Wal-Mart?
That would be giving Walmart and Mcdonald's employees way too much credit. Have you seen the people who work there?
I have an answer for Walmart... and no it's not because the people that work there can't afford the dues...

Walmart actaully doesn't want their employee to be in a union. I don't remember why I just remember that there was a Walmart that closed some where because the employees wanted to be a union.
they CAN'T afford to pay their workers $20 an hour, then they'd have to raise prices and then they'd have to resort to being run by the unions. They wouldn't be able to run their company the way THEY want. The would be held HOSTAGE by the union.

Unions have served their purpose in the Industrial Revolution, but their time is done. They do nothing but take money from people and companies by extortion.

America is a FREE country, we don't HAVE to have a union if we don't want a union. you can thank the UNIONS for being responsible for shutting down factories and have the owners resort to cheaper labor over seas. Oh yeah, UNIONS ARE JUST FRIGGIN" GREAT
Because, it would jack up prices to consumers. Do you think the companies mentioned would just eat the cost of paying union wages? Me thinks NOT
I don't know about McDonalds, but I worked for Walmart for nine agonizing months. They do not allow their workers to form unions. They make up some BS about how the employees actually get more out of what they call an "open door policy." Basically, if you have a problem with the company you can talk to your store manager, and they will resolve it for you. Complete crap, plus it does not allow you to negotiate wages and benefits. So, it's basically just a big scam so they can get away with not paying their employees.
