Why do people say that I'm going to be working at mcdonalds if i get a degree at a trade school?

I know when I get a degree from the trade school I would have a good paying job. I know that I would never work at Mcdonalds because a mcdonalds job won't be able to provide for my wife when I bring her over from Vietnam. Why do people think I'm going to be flipping burgers at Mcdonalds ???Why do people say that I'm going to be working at mcdonalds if i get a degree at a trade school?
Nathan,

Experience, likely, bitter experience.

Trade schools that are not affiliated with a real university (transferable credits) are usually worthless in the eyes of an employer. These outfits advertise on late-night-TV. Rubba-dub-dub school of truck driving, plumbing and veterinary science鈥攜our ticket to real money! Uh-huh. Plumbing? Really? NO. Sorry, Nathan. If they really could make jet mechanics out of anybody -- and get them hired -- would they be on late night cable TV? Sorry, Sss so sorry.

Look, real 'Tradesmen' like plumbers, steamfitters, electricians are taught through the trade's apprenticeship program. Local xyz electrician's union will have a lengthy evening school for apprentice electricians. They usually have very strict entrance requirements: they require that you be employed in the trade in some fashion, a letter of commitment to employ you from a contractor, lots of real-world stuff. Sorry if I sound harsh.

Nathan, I know of an auto mechanic's school that is part of De Anza Community College, they have been able to place nearly all of their graduates at dealerships. The school really works. But, you have to come prepared for college level math, reading, and writing skills. Ain't no shortcuts.

God Bless.
Some people are ignorant and can be very biased. There are people with no post high school education that have started businesses and do very well. There are kids who are still in school, literally kids and teens, that have started businesses with their ideas and do very well. I know of plenty of people with recent 2 year degrees- associates, 4 year degrees- bachelors, and graduate degrees -masters and phds that work at walmart, target, and so forth because of the bad economy. I know people with trade school education and they're doing well.

No amount of education will guarantee you a good career/good paying job. It's all about where your training, experience and education (if you have it) is in. If you go to a public technical college , not a private one, you should be fine. Stay away from private technical schools as they are only for profit and will charge way too much money for an education that you could get for way less at a public technical college. Also private technical schools tend to have less of a reputation and lower placement in the job field.

Don't listen to the ignorance of others. If you take your training seriously and go to a god school with a good reputation in the field ( call employers to find out where they recruit most of their employees from to get a good idea of what schools have a good reputation in the field you're training for) make good grades in your classes, and get out there and pursue a good job in your field once you finish your trade school program and you won't even think about mcdonalds. i wish you well. Why do people say that I'm going to be working at mcdonalds if i get a degree at a trade school?
A vocational school (or trade school or career school), providing vocational education, is a school in which students are taught the skills needed to perform a particular job. Traditionally, vocational schools have not existed to further education in the sense of liberal arts, but rather to teach only job-specific skills, and as such have been better considered to be institutions devoted to training, not education. That purely vocational focus began changing in the 1990s "toward a broader preparation that develops the academic" and technical skills of students, as well as the vocationa
People love to put others down. Forget about it. If you can find a good paying job that allows you to live comfortably and will help provide for you and your family, then so be it. Who cares if a vocational school is what paved the way? Don't allow others to degrade what you're doing. No education is a waste of time. Why do people say that I'm going to be working at mcdonalds if i get a degree at a trade school?
I don't know. I don't know why you need to have a degree at all in order to get a good job. My husband never had a degree, and he earns about $100,000 a year, which is perfectly adequate to keep us all. No.2 son's best friend's father is a builder, and he earns about $200,000 a year. he never went to college either. all this nonsense about needing a college degree to get a good job is just rubbish.
Because people are stuck up as*holes. If you get a trade degree and don't relentlessly pursue your degree field when you graduate, then it might be a problem. But trade degrees can lead to great jobs just like university degrees can. Nobody works at McDonald's unless they choose to.
Alot of the programs they offer at trade schools dont pay very much, and its really hard to find jobs in what they train you for. Your better off to go to a community college to get an associates and transfer to a 4 yr program for something.
I have an associate's degree and that didn't get me a job. No lie. I'm going back to vocational school to be a medical biller. It beats being a bum and having your family look down on you.

Let's see where I get with that. I start in two weeks. Wish me Luck :)
because they arent educated in what at trade school does

why is this in marriage%26amp;divorce
Because you clearly can't even read the categories on Yahoo!Answers.
