Why do cons consider Mcdonald's jobs good jobs when you cannot survive on it?

Most McDonald's are franchises and got caught hiring illegals, paying them far less than minimum wage. I think there was just a new story about this in Nevada.Why do cons consider Mcdonald's jobs good jobs when you cannot survive on it?
I think this difference can be broken into two parts. The first part has to deal with what one considers 'good'. The second part is that you are confusing a 'good job' with a job that is 'good enough'.



There is much more to 'good' than whether one can survive on performing one job alone. If not, then volunteer jobs would be considered bad as one can not survive on them since they do not pay at all.



A good job implies honest work. Is a McDonald's job honest work? Yes.

A good job implies appropriate compensation for the work performed/value added. Is the componsentation (pay) appropriate for the work performed/value added? Yes.



Using that criteria, a McDonald's job is a good job.



Is a McDonald's job 'good enough'? This question is highly subjective and depends heavily upon what one expects or requires from a 'good job'.
A job at McDonald's is a good starting job, you have potential to work up to a managers position, many McDonald;s managers make over a 100K a year.



I realize that it is difficult for a liberal to realize the concept of working UP to a better paying job, but that is how it works in most cases, it is rare to start out in a top level slot or CEO slot with no experience. I have not heard that Cons think McDonald's jobs are good jobs but I guess working at McDonald's is better than working nowhere. At least a person would be getting some work experience.
Ask Obama - who campaigned on a minimum wage of $9.50 per hour for full time workers and said he would implement it by 2011.
