What type of jobs look good on a COLLEGE RESUME?

If I want to attend an Ivy League school or another high prestige college, what types of jobs look good on a resume?



For example, would they prefer someone working at wal-mart or mcdonalds? What jobs would look the best?

ideally you would have done some more relevant work experience than maccy ds or wal mart, that kinda work experience should really only be a last resort, and if you do put that on you have to makesure you demonstrate that it helped you gain transferrable skills, eg communications skills, leadership initiative etc. basically bs.What type of jobs look good on a COLLEGE RESUME?
They don't care. As long as you keep doing it. They just want to know you can handle workplace environment.



It might be slightly better to work in an area you are interested in working/majoring in.



Eg. I work at a hospital and want to major in medicine. I intern at a venture capital firm and I want to major in business.



If you want to be a doctor... why a high prestige school in your undergrad? It just lowers your GPA and screws you over for applying to grad school. It's better to be #1 in your class in an average school than average in a good school.



But on the flip side, the people you meet at these college are so awesome! Discussions are great. Prepares you better for life in med school.
