Can I quit my job at mcdonalds after a week?

I started on Monday and the jobs OK but I saw an advert for a better job at sainsburys and applied for it. If I get the job at sainsburys will I be allowed to quit at macdonalds and then start at sainsburys, and will I still be paid for the hours I worked at macdonalds. And how do I quit. I'm on probation period so does that mean i can just never come back? Can I quit my job at mcdonalds after a week?
you may quit once you are offered the other job. do not quit before that. you will be paid for every hour worked.

if you give 2 weeks notice to Mcdonalds then you would be able to return later if you want to try again.
You can quit at any time but a notice period is usually required but as you are under probation just say you do not like it and will be leaving .a couple of days notice should be sufficient but because you do not want to work their then usually you can leave straight away. They cannot wit hold pay for hours worked no matter why you leave but it is better to leave amicably rather than under a cloud.Put your resignation in writing you can say you are moving to a different job most macs employees are just passing through anyway so it will not be a shock to them. Can I quit my job at mcdonalds after a week?
YES they legally HAVE to pay you for hours worked. You provided them with labor service and now they have to pay, they are under contract to pay when you signed your paperwork with them.

You are not under any obligation to stay at mcdonalds, you can leave anytime you want and trust me with all the kids working those burger-flipping places, they are used to people coming and going. BUT for your own sake, make sure you have the job secured at the other place FIRST! Be sure you know what day you are to start working before you leave McDs
yes you can quit but i wouldnt until you are sure you have the other job, and yes they have to pay you for the hours worked, but the best way to handle this is to give a 2 week notice, let mcdonald know you are leaving, they will respect that and so will Sainsburys, if you leave mcdonalds on good terms then later if you want to go back you can, but if you just walk out, then most likely they will never re-hire you, and that goes for most employersCan I quit my job at mcdonalds after a week?
Wait to see if you get the other job before you talk to your manager at McDonalds. Just tell him/her that you have better offer/better money or hours or whatever reason you have.

They will pay you for any hours worked at McDonald's. No matter what.

However, don't say anything at all unless you know you get the Sainsburys job.

Also, you could tell the manager at Sainsburys that you would like to work a week's notice at McDonalds, this way you will have a good recommendation from them.
You can quit a job anytime you want. You should give 2 weeks notice to any employer. For a job like McDonald's, simply informing your boss verbally when your last day will be is enough. For most jobs, you'll want to write a resignation letter giving your two-weeks notice. It is very possible that if you quit after such a short time you won't be allowed to work at any McDonald's again. You will get a paycheck for the hours you've worked.
Yes you can quit when ever. You just tell the manager the truth, you found a new job and want to stop working at mc donalds for whatever reason you have. You will get paid for your hours worked and yes you can just stop showing up if you choose. But since you quit in probation period you cannot use the employer as a referance.
Of course you will get paid for the hours you worked. If you have good work ethic you would put in a two week notice. Being on probation period at a job simply means that if you don't perform well in the first month of work they will fire you, it does not mean you can't quite.
You can quit whenever you want. Even though you the probationary period you should at least give a a few days notice. Write a quick letter saying you were thankful for the experience, but you are going to move on.
this is America - you can do whatever you want - you quit by telling your boss you are quitting and giving as much notice as possible

don't worry about it until you see if you actually get the other job - you might not
you can quit whenever you want to, of course you will get paid for those hours, and i am sure there are other mcdonalds around where you live if u wanted to work there again.
Wait and see if Saino's offer you a job and if they do ask your supervisor at McD's. They will have to pay you for the hours you have done.

Otherwise keep quiet.
you just say you have been offered a better job somewhere else.

they still have to pay you for what you have worked and you have to give the uniform back
duh, you'll still get paod. they can't work you for free. you could sue for that. jus tell them you found a better job opportunity. as for the probation period, i have no clue.
Its mcdonald, nobody cares :P

just take the job @ sainsburys and forget about mcdonalds x
u can work where u want to and within time u will be able to go back or just eat somewhere else
yes u can by giving them relevant reason, by u wont get ur pay as u r under probation.....
