it would be mean 24 hours a day if that particular McDonald's stays open all night. They are looking for crew members on all their shifts. A shift is like 4pm to 11pm, or the 6am to 1pm shift. There are a lot of shifts at McD's and they overlap. Mostly they divide their staff between morning and night people, so those groups are most familiar with the menu and one another.
