I want to work at McDonalds for my 1st job?

I'm 17 and can't get a job anywhere else so I finally made my myself resort to doing a McDonalds application. What are the pros and cons of working at McDonalds?I only plan on working there for a year since I graduate in May%26amp;plan on going to college next fall.

Thanks in adv!I want to work at McDonalds for my 1st job?
there is nothing wrong with working at mcdonald's.....it's a great starting point to get your foot in the employment door....and they are a lot of benefits to a job with McDonald's......your schedule is pretty flexible for one...you get to name your availability..Of course that doesn't always mean you will get what you ask for....but there is way more flexibility there than most other positions........you get discounts on the food there.......working 8 hour shifts gives you 2 15 minute breaks and 1 1/2 hour break......and the biggest benefit with you planning to go on to college/university is that they help students going on to college....you can win a scholarship through mcdonalds....it isn't one that would pay your entire costs but every little bit helps right?....and if you choose to continue working through college..it's easy to transfer to another McdonaldsI want to work at McDonalds for my 1st job?
The pros are flexible hours and a pay check. The cons are the working conditions and the low pay.

However, any job is what you make of it. If you decide you like the company, you could show initiative, get promoted and end up as a store manager/franchisee along with your college education.

Also, check with the store if you get hired (wait a month or two :). See if the corporation has scholarships that can help you pay for school.

Also, stay on good terms...if you do you job, show up, be courteous and provide 2 weeks notice when you head off for college, you can probably get some hours in over the vacations and summer break rather then having to look for new jobs.I want to work at McDonalds for my 1st job?
LOL good luck, I worked at McDonalds... the pro's, you get to eat the food... con's, weight gain from all the trans and saturated fat. Pro: you get paid and if you live at home the money is all yours, con: you get paid minimum wage which isn't a whole lot to live on... pro: you are guarantee'd a job, con: it's no longer looked at as a good thing to have mcdonalds on your resume, pro: you make lotsa friends, con: you have to wear a uniform... it's all on how you look at it. I'd keep looking if I were you, mcdonalds is not the greatest...or the most dignified at that.
It is a job and you need to start somewhere.

My first job was jack-in-the-box. Fast food teaches you to work hard and quickly.

There is nothing wrong with working there.
