How come hamburgers at home taste so bad compared to a fast food place like mcdonalds?

Ive had hamburgers at home a countless different ways and they all taste bad. The meat tastes so bland even when you bbq them. Then that bland taste of the meat ruins whatever vegetables and sauce you put on it.

I think I have gave up on trying to make a hamburger at home that I would like. This is one of the reasons I want to get a job at mcdonalds. Their hamburgers taste so much better. How come hamburgers at home taste so bad compared to a fast food place like mcdonalds?
I dis agree, but it is probably because you are so used to that crap food that you think it taste food.

All you need to do is to make a good beef patty. How come hamburgers at home taste so bad compared to a fast food place like mcdonalds?
You need to season your meat prior to cooking, one of the easiest ways is by adding a package of onion soup mix (like Lipton's or Knor's) you may need to add a little water too. Worcestershire works good too. Really the sky's the limit add what you like.

Most fast food burgers are cooked on a griddle that has a lot of built up grease (also known as well seasoned) on it and we just love that greasy taste. Their meats also have fillers and additives to stretch it out to make more for less. How come hamburgers at home taste so bad compared to a fast food place like mcdonalds?
I have to agree with the other posters...You have been eating to much McDonalds, and haven't really made a good homemade burger. McDonalds injects their beef patties with a beef auJus solution to add flavor to what is otherwise a low grade of ground beef. To make a good home burger, use ground chuck, 78/22 ration, meaning 78 % lean beef, 22 % fat in the mix. Fat = Flavor. Mix some of your favorite seasonings to the ground chuck (salt, pepper, garlic, some cumin, maybea little cayenne for some heat) mix well and form into the size patties you like. If you like McDonalds, ,then cook your burgers in pan on stove. Toast some buns. You just need to be creative on making home burgers, not just plain meat..
My burgers don't taste bland at home. Try putting black pepper, seasoning salt, and garlic salt in the ground beef. I love home made cheeseburgers! So much bigger and juicier than fast food places!
