I guess it may depend on how you define 'science' as it applies to everyday jobs.
Nutritionists determine the nutritional value of foods served by the chain (always new foods being developed)
Psychologists help to develop advertising.
Food chemists help develop alternative flavorings/additives, etc.
Scientists find better packaging and storage methods for foods.
I'm sure there's more, but those are the closest to a 'laboratory' science I can think of
