I just sent my application to McDonalds today. I was wondering if my chances are high in getting the job there because they aren't hiring at the moment. Also, when should I expect a call from them for an interview? Or am I supposed to call them about it? Oh, btw, I'm 15.What are my chances in getting a job at McDonalds?
no luck sorry but avon.com
This answer is two-fold (possibly more).. 1. though they are not hiring right now, they usually will keep an application/resume on file for 3 months to 6 months.. I don't know if it is law or not, but it is almost a standard practice at all the businesses I have applied to (unfortunately it has been more than I'd like it to in my life).. so you may get called at some point when you even forgot you applied there.
2. Normally you would follow up to see how your application is doing, but when they aren't hiring at the time it isn't a good practice as you already know that your application isn't being looked at at this time. But you could come in every once in a while to speak with the assistant or hiring managers about any turn over (workers quit or get fired) they may have had recently and subtly remind them your app is on file.
3. It is a bad economy at this time and even though McDonald's is a world wide, successful corporation they too have to adjust to the changing times.. your 15 and have very few hours where you can legally work.. they have to consider the cost of training you, and providing uniforms and other benefits you may be eligible for against the payoff of having someone who can work 4 hours a day if that and can't work past certain hours at night.. I am telling you this for the real probability that they may think that hiring a 15 year old is impractical. What are my chances in getting a job at McDonalds?
It's pretty easy to get hired at McDonalds, unless they have an abundance of employees and don't need anyone. But if they're hiring it's not hard at all. All my friends apply to McDonalds if they can't find a job lmao. Most of them get hired. You should expect a call between 1-3 weeks of sending in your application, if they're hiring.
If they are NOT HIRING...your chances are VERY VERY low. If you do not hear anything within a week, you call them. What are my chances in getting a job at McDonalds?

What kind of jobs can I get with some college credits?
I've been going to college, earning my credits, and now I have to get a job and make money before I can go back.
Most of my college credits are liberal arts area. I have a year or so of grocery store working experience.
Should I settle for typical high school jobs like McDonalds, grocery store, or is there a slightly better paying job that I can get some some college credits? If so what are those?
Thanks in advance! :DWhat kind of jobs can I get with some college credits?
Get an internship in the field you want to go into.

What should I put on my resume for a job at McDonalds?
I'm only 15, and I don't have any work experience.
I see alot of people say that you don't need a resume for McDonalds, well then why did they ask me for one?
So, what should I put on my resume if I don't have any experience?
Or if anyone has submitted a resume and an application form to Mcdonalds, and got the job. What did you put on your resume? What should I put on my resume for a job at McDonalds?
put someth like...
hi, i am 15 y.o. dude, i want to start my carer to work at u and sell those hamburgers to lazy peoples, to make their fat asses 100 kg heavier. Even though i dont have any working experience yet, I will try my best to sell as much burgers as i can like Sponch Bob did. Please give me this job

you can't make a resume with no work work experience. you don't even need one for mcdonalds. my recommendation to you is get an application, introduce yourself to the manager, get the number for the location and make a follow up call asking if your application has been looked at about a week after you turn it in. if mcd's says no, try other places too. What should I put on my resume for a job at McDonalds?
Just put school experience activities sports etc... Google resume so u can get an ideal

What position is best for working as a job at McDonalds for a 16 year old?
I just turned sixteen a couple of weeks ago %26amp; I'm on a job hunt for summer jobs. I'm doing an online application %26amp; it's asking for a position of what I am willing to do while working. I really don't understand but quitely I'm sure there's a specific position for a sixteen year old? What position is best for working as a job at McDonalds for a 16 year old?
If you are applying online, the only option that would be relevant to you should be "Crew". The other options are for supervisors and working more with the company itself. "Crew" encompasses all the "jobs" from cleaning duties, to burgers, to cash. What position is best for working as a job at McDonalds for a 16 year old?
Any job. Even if you choose one thing, they'll either stick you in the front (customer service), the back (grill/food prep), or housekeeping. As (one of) your first, you should be willing to do whatever they require of you (within reason, of course =D).
However, McDonald's is also a very taxing place to work. It's a job, but it's a bad job. What position is best for working as a job at McDonalds for a 16 year old?

Should i get a job at mcdonalds or stay on unemployment?
I have searched for a job for months now and the only thing i could find was a job at mcdonalds.
I would make around the same amount i get for unemployment, but on unemployment i wouldn't have to work.
What should i do?Should i get a job at mcdonalds or stay on unemployment?
FIRST......REPORT ABUSE
you need to work
#1- the benefits are soon going to run out.
#2- you (or your children/grandchildren) will repay a part of these benefits in higher payroll taxes.
#3- you can work and still draw partial benefits so in fact by working you can make more.

What are my chances of getting a job at mcdonalds with 4 job applications?
I just applied 4 times to different mcdonalds near my house. What are the chances of me landing a job because i heard its harder now because of the recession. What are my chances of getting a job at mcdonalds with 4 job applications?
I just switched jobs and now make more money even though we are in a recession, it may be harder where you are I am not too sure. A big hint is did they say they were hiring or just accepting applications? If they say just accepting applications it means they are not hiring right at the moment but could be soon and want to have applications on file if they say they are hiring then you have a good chance. If you are unsure then call them and ask to speak to the human resources or hiring manager and ask. good luck my sister got a job there and now wont eat anything there cause she knows how it is all made lol

Do you think applying for jobs online actually works?
Okay....lost my last job about two months ago. Been out of work since...but I have been putting in applications online for all kinds of jobs! McDonalds, all the fast food places...Walmart...Kmart...etc. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?Do you think applying for jobs online actually works?
Applying online actually works, but you have to get to the stores too. There is so much to be said about the face to face interaction and the timing which I believe is everything. As a job counselor I always tell the students that I work with to visit the stores in person and make every effort to speak to a manager.
You can be smart about this and try not to go during rush hour for any of the periods of lunch, breakfast and dinner time. Most of the hiring managers work the morning shift. I would apply online and then print the shell of the application and visit the store in person, start with the closest locations to you and work your way out. The fastest hiring jobs typically are the fast food jobs. So start with those first, also companies that are expanding line HH Gregg, and others. Try those too.
Online applications rarely work. The reason is simply competition. Since it's so easy to email a resume, *everyone* does it. Every job that gets posted online receives literally hundreds of applications. It's only a matter of probabilities that at least a few of those hundreds will be better qualified than you. The alternative, for employers who can't be bothered to actually read through hundreds of resumes, is lottery style picking. Your chances are just as bad with that, obviously.
Making contact with another human being directly is ALWAYS better. It increases your chances of success dramatically. Put yourself into the shoes of a hiring manager: you have 160 resumes from people you've never seen or heard of, and 20 resumes from people whose hand you shook. Would you even bother looking at the email applicants?
A lot of the big companies only accept online applications. Unless you have connections to the manager or other important staff somehow, then there's no way around the bad odds.Do you think applying for jobs online actually works?
I imagine for retail jobs the applicants are pretty similar to each other and they must receive a ton of applications. I'd continue to use online but also go to the store and talk to someone.
We're all human, sometimes we don't get around to doing things until it's in our face reminding us.
After high school I applied for a very large handful of jobs online. I never got a a single response. After that I applied to some of the same jobs after going in to meet the manager, and ended up taking two jobs out of the four I was offered! I honestly think they would rather see you come into the place of work and apply, or ask for an application to take home.Do you think applying for jobs online actually works?
I started working online about 6 months ago. im making about 500$ a week. Go ahead and check it out for yourself, its worth it

How much notice do you have to give in to quit my job at McDonalds?
I've got a job at McDonalds and am looking to quit. Does anyone know how much notice I need to give in order to quit? How much notice do you have to give in to quit my job at McDonalds?
If you have worked there less than 3 months you dont have to give any notice if more than 3 months you should give 2 weeks notice but then again it is McDonalds we are talking about they are used to people leaving without notice.
The appropraite notice would be 2 weeks. If they don't want you to stay that long they'll let you know. How much notice do you have to give in to quit my job at McDonalds?
You don鈥檛 have to give any, but you should give 1-2 weeks in writing. No matter how insignificant the job might seem, you want to leave the best possible impression on your past employers. You never know when you鈥檒l run into them again鈥r if you might one day have to go crawling back there.
I worked at McD鈥檚 for a couple of years in high school and one of my old managers has quit three times now and may be going back for a 4th round of employment. It鈥檚 not her dream job, but it鈥檚 nice to know it鈥檚 available.
At least two weeks that is if you might need to go back. How much notice do you have to give in to quit my job at McDonalds?
I believe no matter where you work you should work out your 2 week notice. No shorter than a 1 week notice.
Technically, you don't need to give any notice at all. Giving notice is a courtesy to your employer. HOWEVER, if you want a good reference from your manager which will help when looking for another job, you should give at least a week's notice, but the norm is two weeks notice.
You don't HAVE to give any notice, but the general rule is to give two weeks. Who knows, you may want to go back to work there some day.
Two weeks is standard.
The proper notice of leave is 2 weeks. But you could ask your boss. I have known places where they accept a one week notice. To be safe tho incase you need the job back. Give them the 2 wk notice. Good Luck on your new job...
Most businesses request that you give them two weeks notice so that they have ample time to fill your soon-to-be vacant position.
That's the best way to leave any business if you don't want to leave on negative terms. This is especially important to keep in mind if you ever have to get a recomendation for another job.
Good Luck!
Ok, fast food places don't even need a notice to quit.
I'm pretty sure that it would be a smart idea NOT to put 'McDonald's' on your resume when you try to get a REAL job.

The pay is usually okay for fast food, but some of my most fun jobs were at restaurants.
i know two people who worked at mcdonalds and surprisingly they both liked it. they were both your run of the mill Abercrombie girls. i think people have this preconception of what it is to work at mcdonalds and from what i hear, its not bad at all. they both did interviews and i think they made a little over minimum wage, which varies according to your state.duplicolor

What can I expect from McDonalds job interview?
Got interview for customer care assistant tomorrow, what sorts of questions am I likely to be asked, what should I wear ? Its part time eveing work, how many hours are they likely to give me thanks!! :-)What can I expect from McDonalds job interview?
Dress nicely- black slacks, a nice blouse, and close toed shoes. They will most likely ask you to tell them about yourself, then ask questions such as how well are your people skills, why you want the job, or how you would deal with a rude or unhappy customer.
Good luck! :)What can I expect from McDonalds job interview?
They will ask:
What's your name?
Can you tell the time?
Do you know what day comes after Tuesday?
Can you walk and talk at the same time?
If you can answer all these questions with a 'yes' they will offer you a manager's job.
Don't forget to get out of your pram before going into the interview though.

Chances of getting a job a mcdonalds this summer?
I am a 14 year old and planning on working this summer. For the record, i checked just to let you know in my state that i live in, you can be 14 and work at mcdonalds. Heres a background about me, I am a hard worker maintain A and A- average. The reason for this question is if i have a chance of getting a job with the current economic status this summer.Chances of getting a job a mcdonalds this summer?
I feel you have a great chance of getting a job at McD's. The main reason is because there is a high number of people who quit. Therefore, they are always looking for new people to hire. I feel the most important thing you should do at your interview is to sound confident. I personally am very shy, but at my interview I made sure I sounded very outgoing and confident. Another tip would be to mention how you are a very good "team player" and that you want to become a better "team leader". McDonalds is very team oriented and managers LOVE these two phrases. Your grades will also impress them so I suggest trying to mentioning this to them. You sound like a very smart kid so I guarantee that you will land a job. Good luck!
youll get it trust me.
on your application put some thing in like i work well in a team, i can work well under pressure.
put that in and you will have it
also when you get the interview when your shaking the interviewers hand do a firm shake thats what they look for aswell
how would i know this. i got a job at mcdonalds when i was 14 and im now 15 :OChances of getting a job a mcdonalds this summer?
It depends on how busy the McDonald's is. If they're hiring, you definitely have a chance. Even if you had a D average, they will hire anybody.
Maybe set your sites a little higher. Basically McD's likes to hire borderline retarded kids and exploit them. You can do better.Chances of getting a job a mcdonalds this summer?
not as likely as in recent years.
the economy really stinks.
However

How easy is it to get a job at mcdonalds?
I just applied online at mcdonalds a couple of days ago, and I haven't heard back from them yet. I'm really counting on this job, so I'm worried if I got it or not.How easy is it to get a job at mcdonalds?
apply in store by handing in a CV you're more likely to get it,
And its incredibly easy :3How easy is it to get a job at mcdonalds?
Usually, the will contact you for an interview when you apply online so you don't just automatically get the job. If I were you I would go into the store and ask to speak to the manager and apply that way. If it turns out that they aren't hiring or you don't get the job you could go to other Mc Donalds locations or look at other fast food restaurants. Just remember to stay positive, keep a smile on your face, and show the manager or who ever you speak to that you want the job and you are qualified! Can i work at a job such as Mcdonalds with an expired green card?
I am 18 years old. Have an expired green card which i plan on renewing. But during the time its expired can i work at a job like mcdonalds. If not, what about the mall like a sneaker store or something, 100% answers please and thank you.Can i work at a job such as Mcdonalds with an expired green card?
It is against the law for any employer to hire you, mcdonalds has payed millions in fines for hiring illegals, don't think they want to do that to much more.
Yes, you are eligible to work for now, but it will probably be denied unless you have an excellent excuse as to why you delayed renewing it. You probably don't have something that stretches that long, so they will deny you. Worst case scenario will be that you will just have to spend the money (and yes, I know it is a lot of money) to file all over again. The good news is that it will be easier to prove and you will be given a 10 year residency at the conclusion.
So for now, you can continue working and living normally, but be prepared for a denial. Can i work at a job such as Mcdonalds with an expired green card?
Yes you can, but if they ask to see proof of legality, you need to show them SOMETHING%26gt; If your Green Card is in the process of renewal, what you can do is make an appointment w/ Immigration using www.uscis.gov and go to Infopass, make an appointment to go to the nearest Immigration office and get an I-94 provisional residency card. You'll need to bring a passport size picture for that and bring proof that your green Card is in the process of renewal (I-90 Notice of Receipt)
You should've renewed your GC a long time ago, amigo.
"Green Cards" expire, however your LPR Status does not. You are fine... Just go and get your card renewed. Actually, you were supposed to have it renewed when you turned 14... You can work any job you can get.Can i work at a job such as Mcdonalds with an expired green card?
No, you have to be a legal citizen of the United States to work here, if not its bye-bye for you, and a big fine.
So I suggest getting it renewed before its too late.

Maybe you can find something standing around outside Home Depot entrances with the other illegals and working for cash, but nothing legal without a card.

How likely am i to land a job in Mcdonalds?
Of course, this is a Part time job. Need a little extra income to start off college. I live in the bronx and judging by how concentrated the population is here, what exactly are my chances of landing a job at Mcdonalds? IS it a requirement to have experience in the fast food industry? Sadly this will be my very first job, but what other choice do i have? the economy is crap, people wont hire students with no experience, and my resume isn't exactly top notch . How likely am i to land a job in Mcdonalds?
1. You WANT a job at McDonalds
and
2. You seem intelligent and able to string more than three words together at a time
You'll get the job, but I think you're overqualified. Good luck!
mcdonald's may sound like the last place you want to get a job at but someone told me that it's a really good job, because it shows that you know how to serve people and communicate well (which is always a good thing to tell interviewers) seriously, all my teachers at school always praise a kid who works part-time at mcdonalds. first i was like wtf? but i guess its a good asset!! make the most of mcdonalds :)How likely am i to land a job in Mcdonalds?
If you apply you would definitely get in because they wouldn't have very many workers, but I'm sure you could do better. Maybe you could work in Topshop or another shop? It would be more fun and the pay would be better. Good luck, follow your heart. Don't do something you don't enjoy, even if it is just through college.
:)
they'll hire anyone at McDonalds most likely. have you seen some of the people that work there? i'm sure the high school kids working there have no experience in the fast food industry. so go for it.How likely am i to land a job in Mcdonalds?
You're intelligent, and know when you're getting paid too little. This is not likely at all. This is a case where, "We can't hire you because you're overqualified."
Go in around lunch time, grab a handful of fries, and throw them without looking See if one hits a fat person. Your chances of getting a job are about as good.
Ugh, you can do better'n MacDonald's. You'll never, ever get the stench of dead animals and grease off your skin or clothes. Keep looking.
No you can earn "experience" with you first job.
You will get the job.
You'll get the job.
you will get the job......... stay positive.
Job at mcdonalds....good chance.
Can you walk? talk? and half a@ss make change then your definetly a shoe in.
I'm more than sure they'll hire you...no offense to McDonald's but they hire just about anybody. :)

Is Obama happy that 244,000 jobs were created in April with 62,000 for jobs at McDonalds?
It's better than the minus number of jobs under the Bush administration and the downward trend when President Obama took office. The tax cuts for the wealthy don't seem to be working too well in creating these vast numbers of jobs that Republicans claimed they would. Extending those tax cuts seems to have had no effect.
Getting the economy out of the declining mess that Republican policies left it in and into a sustained recovery is a struggle that President Obama is continuing well, despite determined Republican obstructionism.
Corporations are reaping record profits but that is not translating into sufficient numbers of jobs, at least not in this country. Efforts by Democrats to halt outsourcing are opposed by Republicans at every turn. President Obama has to find a way to get past the Republicans. Is Obama happy that 244,000 jobs were created in April with 62,000 for jobs at McDonalds?
Let's see... 1,123,000 jobs lost in Bush's last month as president vs. 250,000 jobs gained in April... Yup, sounds good to me.
Remember you were the party that was promising to provide jobs (still waiting for those fiscal conservatives to put into place a single job-creation bill), and you never said where the jobs should come from.
When you posted these numbers you should have posted that unemployment rose.
Unemployment is still out pacing employment.
Unemployment rose a percent.
If the jobs "created" were helping the economy the unemployment would have dropped not risen. Is Obama happy that 244,000 jobs were created in April with 62,000 for jobs at McDonalds?
For months all we kept hearing from conservatives that people should at least get a job at McDonald's so they aren't a drain on resources. You finally get your wish and you're still not happy? They got jobs. That's what you wanted.
How many of those jobs would have been lost if Obama refused to give McDonalds exemption from health care reform compliance? Is Obama happy that 244,000 jobs were created in April with 62,000 for jobs at McDonalds?
In April we had 190,000 FEWER people working than we had in March, according to BLS, thus PROVING AGAIN that the smartest Democrat in the World doesn't understand what "more" or "less" mean.
Americans got jobs, that makes me happy.
Yes, Owebama is the Hamburglar
I'm sure you think so.
How many burgers does a loyal American have to eat a week to keep the economy balanced?

When applying for a job at McDonalds, is it best to not include your college degree?
I am desperate and I am tired of hanging around the house all day. I want to save money and eventually pay down my debt and start paying off my student loan. I am going to apply for a job at McDonalds because I need something to do. Should I leave off my college degree on the application? When applying for a job at McDonalds, is it best to not include your college degree?
if you're applying for a manager's position then include the degree, but if you're just going to be a line worker then don't because they won't hire you. (heck, if you have serious work experience they won't hire you even if you leave off the degree because their answer to me was "you're just going to leave in a few months when you find something more suited to you)
if you're looking for something to tide you over between jobs during a job search then consider temp work. there are all kinds of temp agencies that provide workers for all kinds of work. The larger the metropolitan area you live in the more types of temp work will be available to you. there might even be a temp agency that specializes in your area of expertise.
also I would suggest you look into waiting tables or pizza delivery driver. They won't hold the degree against you and you'll make a bit more money than you would working for McDonald's.
also on the off chance your job hunt runs into the new school year in the fall, check your local school district for their requirements for substitute teaching. if you have a bachelor's degree then you're golden to them.
and don't stop looking for work in your field if you land one of these jobs. even consider saving up to move out of your area into another place where you may have an easier time getting into your field.
Good Luck. When applying for a job at McDonalds, is it best to not include your college degree?
Yes, I would probably leave off the fact that you have a degree.
Otherwise, they might either wonder what is wrong with you that you can not get a more professional position or they may think it wouldn't be worth their time to train you, assuming you will still be looking for a better job and will quit as soon as you get one. When applying for a job at McDonalds, is it best to not include your college degree?
they have management jobs at McDonalds
yes use that degree to your advantage.

What types of things are asked at a Mcdonalds job interview?
First time job interview tomorrow. I'm very nervous lol.
I was wondering what types of things will they ask?
Thanks in advance :)What types of things are asked at a Mcdonalds job interview?
serious: be yourself, be confident, if your confident or act confident they will want you
joking: when you last listened to george michaels nude at the public toilets
Relax. You will be interviewed by the store manager which at some point was right were you will be. Now if your a student, they will ask you how you do in school and if you attend school on a regular basis. How many hours you would like to work, what attracted you to mcdonalds, how long do you see yourself working there, would you be willing to attend orientation if the franchise offers it. Be honest and try to stay as level headed as possible. Relax and breathe.
GOOD LUCK!
Just because it's mickey d's , take pride in your work and you can be promoted. I was at mcdonalds for 5 months when they sent me to food safety and a shift management course which bumped me up to 10.00 an hour. Paid training. Dont make a career out of it, just always try your best!!!What types of things are asked at a Mcdonalds job interview?
The questions should be similar to any job. For example;
1: What is something you wish to accomplish in the future?
2: What is something you wanted to accomplish and did, and how did you do it?
3: Tell me about a situation you were in when it involved team work?
4: What do you wish to learn by working at McDonald's?
Things like that. You can use any examples, like school projects, etc.
They will ask if you have had food service/restaurant experience, why do you want to work at McD's, do you like the food, are you prepared to act professionally at all times: never talk back to customers rudely, never goof around on the job, follow the hygiene rules, be on time, listen to you manager...What types of things are asked at a Mcdonalds job interview?
1) Are you good with people?
2) how quick are you at learning?
3)can you handle comments?/rude people.
4)how good are you at taking order from people?

What does the manager ask at a McDonalds job interview?
Please answer. I have an interview today and I'm very much nervous. It would also be my first job if i was to get it.What does the manager ask at a McDonalds job interview?
McDonald's was my first job to, although that was about 10 years ago, not sure if interviews are the same anymore. Don't be nervous, it's not that hard to get a job at Mickey D's. They may ask you some math questions ( if Shelly's total was 5.65 and she gave you 10.00 how much would she get back?) Easy. They might ask you if you have a good attendance, how you handle the costumers etc. As long as your confident and friendly you'll get the job. Good Luck!

They may ask you some math questions ( if Shelly's total was 5.65 and she gave you 10.00 how much would she get back?) Easy. They might ask you if you have a good attendance, how you handle the costumers etc. As long as your confident and friendly you'll get the job. Good Luck!
Do you have working body parts, then welcome to the mickey d's fast food service. What does the manager ask at a McDonalds job interview?
When i had my Maccas interview i was asked what i thought my strengths were and what i thought my weaknesses were.
Good luck with it!
Are you physically able to sit through 3 hours of "training videos"?
Are you going to make us believe that you are"Proud" to wear the ridiculous looking uniform?
Are you going to give away food and drinks to your friends?
Do you promise not to tell anyone that our milkshakes are made of soybean paste and yogurt, not ice cream?

What to wear to a McDonalds job orientation?
I had an interview today and I wore standard nice interview clothes, but what should I wear the orientation? Can I just wear non-crappy looking jeans and a shirt or should I wear clothes like what is expected at an interview? What to wear to a McDonalds job orientation?
Jeans (as long as they aren't ripped or weirdly faded with paint splatters or weird embellishments) are fine. You might to dress it up with a fancier top, but you don't need to wear super fancy clothes. I'd advise wearing closed toe shoes as they might take you on a tour of the restaurant (which would include the kitchen, and safety first!)What to wear to a McDonalds job orientation?
You don't have to wear anything special. just dress casual

How does scheduling work at mcdonalds job?
On the application I wrtoe down the times that I'm available, but it is ok if I change it later after I go through orientation? What about the days that I can't come due to an important event? Can I just say I won't make it or something? This will be my first job so I'm wondering how the process works. How does scheduling work at mcdonalds job?
Have you been on an interview or Spoken to someone there yet? Have you already been offered the position?
It's pretty much the same for every job. If you haven't already been hired, there will be a time where you go in and speak to someone, whether it's an interview or to be informed more about the job. You will have a chance to ask them questions and that's when you should state that you are availability is different than what was previously stated on the application. If you've already been hired, you need to make them aware of your time changes ASAP!!!
As for not working due to an important event, you will have to make your manager aware of the situation in advanced. As soon as you know, they should know. If you are unable to get the time off, see if you can switch shifts with someone or get someone to cover for you. Be aware though of how many times you do this and don't make a habit of it.

Can 14 year olds get real jobs like at a gas station or mcdonalds?
I NEED a job!Can 14 year olds get real jobs like at a gas station or mcdonalds?
You can't legally work at a gas station or mcdonalds until you are like 17 or 18. You can always babysit!!
(I was in your same position this past summer. The only way I earned money "fast" was babysitting and cleaning my parents house.)Can 14 year olds get real jobs like at a gas station or mcdonalds?
You can get a job from other adults, like personal, not company jobs. Work for people like uncles and aunts or close family friends.
I have friends who works at McDonald's, but they're 15. Once you're 16, you can work at some bigger corporations like some banks. Gas stations in my area (not sure about others) only accept applicants who're 18 or older due to the responsibility of gasoline...Can 14 year olds get real jobs like at a gas station or mcdonalds?
I believe that Chick-Fil-A hires at 14, but that's all I know. Not sure if they pay full wage or not.
If that doesn't work out, try applying for a job in something that you have had experience in. So for example, if you can play tennis really well or something, try to find a job involving it. It could work.
And it can also be different with family/friends businesses, etc.
I hear you, but unfortunately, only doing community jobs (not service) is about the only option you have. I.E. Mowing lawns, pet care, running errands, creating things, or perhaps, depending on who it is and labor laws, babysitting.

What should i expect at a Mcdonalds job interview/OJE?
I have an interview and a OJE for Maccy d's on tuesday, and i would like to know what questions i should expect from the person interviewing me, also what is the OJE like?
The mcdonalds ive applied for doesnt have a drive-thru, and im 16 if that helps.
Would it be ok if i wear jeans and a button shirt for the interview? What should i expect at a Mcdonalds job interview/OJE?
Yea a button shirt and jeans should be fine, just be yourself and relax. Answer there questions but if you do get stuck and don't know the answer just go 'I don't know the answer now, but I aim to learn if I get the job' - this will show willingness to pick things up. Good luck.round table pizza menu

Can a 17 year old work nightshift at Mcdonalds?
I need a job badly and I found a Mcdonalds job but it's nightshift. (11PM-7AM) It works perfectly with my dads schedule because I don't have my license yet. Is it legal? Can a 17 year old work nightshift at Mcdonalds?
YEs IT is you should go for it starting to work at a young age teahces one to work hard and its good if you want a second job you'll have more on your resume and night shift is fine unless you can stay awake all night and yeah it is legal my friend he is 16 he works at burger king till 6 in the morning and he loves it he makes money and he enjoys working there and it is very hard to get a job now a days for teens your age so GO FOR IT.! %26lt;3 :)
Absolutely it is legal, the only part that would be an issue is when school starts again, if you still attend high school. During the Summer months if that is an opportunity for you to make money and gain some income for your expenses and your dad is willing to provide you with the transportation, than there is nothing else to consider. At 17 years old you have the stamina to conquer the world. Go for it.Can a 17 year old work nightshift at Mcdonalds?
I think so. I worked at a pizza shoppe until 1am when I was 16/17. Although, I'm pretty sure the owner had other illegal things going on (just minor like health things, i know gross). But maybe it's different because McDonalds is a major franchised corporation. Just call them and find out, I'm sure its fine, I've never seen anything saying that minors cant work after a certain time, they just can't exceed like 30 hours I think.
When I worked there, people under 18 couldn't work past eleven. I'm in England, dunno bout you.. there's also lots of stuff you can't do in the kitchen cos of health and safety. Can a 17 year old work nightshift at Mcdonalds?

What should I wear to a mcdonalds job interview?
Tomorrow I have my first ever job interview, and I am a little bit worried about my appearance.
I'm 16 and have a very limited wardrobe and that could be an issue.
I also have a pierced nose, and stretched ears.
Help?
Thanks! What should I wear to a mcdonalds job interview?
Dress as nice as possible, lose the earrings and crap in your face. Yes, they would probably hire you naked but leave an impression. Your representing yourself and your family. I would not wear the face stuff to work either. It's about dignity at work I guess. What should I wear to a mcdonalds job interview?
Dress neat and clean. I'd lose the nose piercing as I don't believe your allowed to wear it at work. I think ears with out anything in look worse but wear something plain.
Just don't wear your jeans down to your knees and your boxers and butt out. Try for a shirt other than a tee if you have one. Make sure nothing vulgar is on it if you have only T-shirts. Think about how your parents would like you to dress and lean toward that more than you normally do. Just do the best you can with what you have. Mc D's hires lots of teenagers and they under stand I'm sure. If you have obviously tried you should do fine.
Remember the way you speak also counts. Dealing with customers is often difficult so they want someone who isn't speaking all slang or using the F word. This parts really important.
Everyone knows that the customer is NOT always right but you have to show that you can pretend you believe they are.
Good luck! This job is the beginning of the work path you'll follow all your life. A job is a job no matter where you are. Its not supposed to be fun but it can be much easier if you have the attitude you will be giving it the best you have. Do that and you will soon move on to the job you prefer.
**Lea threw in some great ideas, read them carefully. What should I wear to a mcdonalds job interview?
about your stretched ears %26amp; nose piercing -- your best bet would have been to check out other employees in advance to see if anyone else had them. personally, i think stretched ears are a real big "no" on hiring someone, especially if they're going to be dealing with the public. and McDonald's tries to present a family friendly environment %26amp; some parents would object to the stretched ears. if you can, replace your nose piercing with something tiny and unobtrusive, and hope that the manager doesn't mind the ear adornments.
i used to hire people for a Bath and Body Works shop %26amp; you would NOT believe what people would show up wearing, or how they sometimes smelled. seriously. like they hadn't bathed for a week. and the clothes --.girls in house shoes, in flannel pajama pants, *barefoot*, dirty hair, hair in curlers, dirty dreads (there's dreads and then there's *scary* dreads -- this girl's dreads had miscellaneous items twisted up in them -- a coin, a ring, bits of ribbon. i mean, really. it looked like the dreads snuck out in the middle of the night %26amp; hunted things to wear. my fellow manager *swore* she saw a stick of gum in there.)
but i wander -- anyway. be clean. have a breath mint on the way in. wear clean clothes that aren't all wrinkled up. you shouldn't look like you either ran through your closet %26amp; let things happen as they may, or like you got dressed by picking up clothes from the floor.
there are two good ways to dress for a job interview. the first is to dress as though you already work there. going by the McD's near me, that would mean a polo style shirt and dark jeans or slacks. the other way is to dress for the job *over* the job you want to have. in McD's that'd probably mean wearing a regular shirt and a tie and slacks. if you don't have anything like that, wear a plain t-shirt and your nicest (not ripped, torn, pre-aged, or frayed) jeans.
oh -- and make sure your hands are clean, especially under your nails. what you're trying to do is present a picture of a person that the interviewer sees as already fitting in with the work environment.
but most importantly, look the manager in the eye, answer the questions completely (sometimes they toss in questions like, describe yourself in three words (don't do what my daughter did and say, pink, bunny, unicorn) -- some good words are loyal, honest, i try to communicate well (sometimes you can sneak in extra words), unflappable, calm, and energetic. (probably shouldn't use those last two together.) and at the end of the interview, say "thanks for your time." and shake hands.
good luck

Is it seen as social suicide to work in McDonalds?
I'm a student at 16 and go to college.
I've seen McDonald's job (or McJobs) advertised and at 拢6 an hour, seem quite nice.
But people always diss McDonald jobs, and if I end up working there, it seems bad?
What do you think?
If your friend worked at McDonalds what would you think?
Also I know Burger King is better, but I don't have any PhD's yetIs it seen as social suicide to work in McDonalds?
idk...its seem like ur in europe...
but mcdonald is a perfectly normal job for a kid cuz they need to make money...if u were like 29 or something and still work in it...then it may b social suicide....
course....16 and in college is pretty young....unless college in europe mean high school....
It's perfectly respectable to work at McDonald's as a teenager or college student- if you're still working there after getting your degree, (or past the age when you otherwise would have gotten a degree), then it sucks. It's actually a pretty sucky job anyway, but it's much easier when you know it's only temporary and that you have something better to look forward to.Is it seen as social suicide to work in McDonalds?
Where do you live where McDonalds is the best choice available to work?
Real friends shouldn't judge you for where you work. McDonalds is widely dissed for good reasons. It is a corporate giant that pushes out local business, is bad for the environment, has cruel slaughterhouse practices, outsources, encourages obesity by offering hormone/chemical caked foods for lower prices than any surrounding food distributors.
See: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.ph鈥?/a>
McDonalds is not really a place to proud to work at for all that it stands for. This goes for most corporate giants. Political implications aside, its a job. If you are thinking of working there, you obviously are not swayed by what it supports so give it a try. What have you got to lose? You can always quit with 2 weeks notice.
as long as i get a paycheck at the end of the week, i don't give two f*cks what anyone thinks of my job.
if you can take the extra food home with you, you'll be a hit in the dorm...Is it seen as social suicide to work in McDonalds?
It is never "social suicide" to work. If you contemporaries feel you have committed social suicide, I would recommend getting a brand new set of friends.
Heck no it's not. It's a great place to work for your first job. Great work ethics and good stable foundation, for you to start. Enjoy it! I loved working there!!!!
Yes. Don't work at mcdonalds. Do anything else. Preferably something related to business.
It's fine if your 16. Fast food is where lots of teenagers get there first job. But if your too embaressed, apply for a retail job at your favorite place to shop.

What to expect at a McDonalds Job Interview?
And tips for success? Especially considering I left my last job on bad terms (just didn't show up for work) and haven't been looking for a job for 4 months. Any suggestions for excuses? What to expect at a McDonalds Job Interview?
Just tell them at that point in time you were facing issues in your life that you have overcome. Tell them that you have learned and grown from that experience at that working with this company means a lot to you.
Also go to the McDonalds website. They actually will help you prepare for interviews online! :)
But always remember to wear nice clothes (not super nice, it's just McDonalds) and to be super clean. Small studs for earrings, clean finger nails, smell good. No flip flops. And be really smiley and happy, a real people person. Don't be afraid to laugh slightly here and there. You just have to seem very likable, especially if you plan to work in a place that provides services (food) to other people.

I was wondering if anyone who has worked in BK or McD's could tell me:
if i was to work there, would i have to work at the tills?
its just i gt really nervous working with people =[
im only asking cuz i asked my friend and she says at dominoes, that everyone takes turns at everything - no one has a specific job.
is it like this at bk and mc d's?
thanksBurger king/mcdonalds jobs?
Hi I worked there years ago and yeah fraid it was like your pal at dominos and we had to do a bit of everything. If you are shy of working with people- so was I when I firs started working! Now I get into trouble every now and again for coming across as being cheeky! It is something that comes with time. May not feel like it but it will!Burger king/mcdonalds jobs?
I could care less about McD's. They are anti-White and they won't hire you unless you are black or hispanic.
I had a cousin who worked at BK and he did have to learn several different responsibilities, depending on what needed to be done (cleaning, registers, drive-thru, etc.)chucky cheese coupons

How does a company like McDonalds benefit from the sending of american jobs to china, india, mexico, etc.?
Hey, if I want to fly to Shanghai for my McNuggets, that's my business. How does a company like McDonalds benefit from the sending of american jobs to china, india, mexico, etc.?
Cheap labor. How does a company like McDonalds benefit from the sending of american jobs to china, india, mexico, etc.?
It's very simple. If they pay an American to make their Happy Meal鈩?toys, cups, wrappers, etc, then they pay at least minimum hourly wage. If they pay someone in a poor country to do it, they might be able to get away with paying just a few cents a day.How does a company like McDonalds benefit from the sending of american jobs to china, india, mexico, etc.?
Some countries produce things at lower cost. Not all such coutries are poor. Dollars fluctuate.
The question is, ehat makes those jobs "American"?
Companies need to be competitive to survive. If McDonalds has everything produced in the US and another burger chain outsources overseas, the other burger chain will have a major price advantage and put McDonalds out of business.
Americans during te Cold War were able to keep businesses from going abroad to find labour by creating a polarized world of rich vs poor nations. Now that it's over, these companies can produce in China and elsewhere with relative ease bringing the balance of rich and poor to a more reasonable level.
As poorer nations standards of living increase, richer nations standards of living must go down to balance out.
Today, the minimum wage in the US is too high. People make too much money to compete internationally.
In the near future, wages will need to decrease. Jobs will take more people overseas. Rich and poor will be spread across the globe more evenly. It will not be "American" jobs as it never was. It's just jobs and the best employees will still make the most, only this time they will come from any nation, not just certain ones. Americans will be forced to compete with more abitious, thinner people for the same jobs and therefore many Americans will go broke while many others from around the world will have a better chance to make it rich.
McDonald's doesn't care about American jobs, it cares about profits, as it should, it's a business. There's nothing in it for McDonlad's to keep paying fat lazy over demanding Americans $8 an hr, tens of thousands of dollars in insurance, sky high rents and operating costs etc to keep jobs in the US. The US is the least competitive / desirable nation to manufature in.
Americans don't grasp business though. If the government had brains they'd work harder to keep the US competitive for manufacturing. They'd realize they can't be a country of 300,000,000 people all in the service industry. The money has to come from somewhere. There's your debt. 12 trillion in the whole and no end to the borroeing in sight. Well not until the US economy completely collapses and min wage hits $3 an hour. Then the US will become competitive again.
Anyway, now I'm just drifting...
well because of racist, socialist idiots like are little obama fraud in the WH it is becoming harder and harder to run a successful business in the US so anyone who wants to provide jobs and create wealth is forced to go elsewhere...some how obama thinks this will "fix" the economy, well at least that is what the crack head has been saying while he sens billions in tax payers money to his big business buddies that helped buy him the election, unions being at the top of the list

Why do Hindu's regard the cow as sacred & then get jobs working at McDonalds selling burgers ?
Their McDonalds don't sell beef burgers. Why do Hindu's regard the cow as sacred %26amp; then get jobs working at McDonalds selling burgers ?
1. Not all Hindus work in McDonalds. As a matter of fact, the vast majority of them are doctors and engineers. The odd ones are dentists and into law. Very few are in lowly jobs. They rather be a shop-keeper.
2. They don't eat it, and UNLIKE MOST PEOPLE OF OTHER RELIGIONS, if another person offers them medicine made from cows/witness people eating beef, they take very little offense. As a matter of fact, through intensive research, less than a tenth of Hindus are passionate about penalising their significant others if they ate beef. Look back, almost all other religions that prohibit such resort to a divorce/strict rules.
3. You can't blame a Hindu for the desires of McDonalds and the hunger of people who consider eating beef as a need.
Do they sell non-cow burgers? Why do Hindu's regard the cow as sacred %26amp; then get jobs working at McDonalds selling burgers ?
Never have seen a person from India,Pakistan, or Hindu working for Mac Donald's. They usually are Doctors or in the medical field.
For a while they were business owners like motels or Seven Elevens.
The same reason that Christians regard the Bible as the word of God, and then disobey every thing in it. They are idiots. Why do Hindu's regard the cow as sacred %26amp; then get jobs working at McDonalds selling burgers ?
You are a fool amongst fools.
It's no longer a cow.
I think they can still eat the cow
Funny, I can not recall ever seeing a Hindu work at McDonalds.
Any proof to prove this or ar you just making it up?
Just eat on KFC
they don't

Are these fights for McDonalds jobs a sure sign that Obama is fixing the economy?
Go Obama!!, the 1st link since half the time Yahoo answers doesn't allow youtube links because your question will never be seen by others, so I posted a google search link http://www.google.com/#hl=en%26amp;sugexp=gsqv鈥?/a>Are these fights for McDonalds jobs a sure sign that Obama is fixing the economy?
Government does not create jobs except for government jobs.
Never has, never will
It has NOTHING to do with Blobama...the hiring push is to promote the image of a McDonald's job as something positive. "A McJob is one with career growth and endless possibilities," the company noted in a prepared statement. Around 75 percent of McDonald's managers and about half of its franchisees began their careers as store workers.
..."No. A bunch of $15K/yr jobs just to get by. Pfft."
Some people may need this job, just because its beneath you and people like you, it puts food on the table for some...With this economy, people like you should appreciate what McDonald's is actually trying to do!Are these fights for McDonalds jobs a sure sign that Obama is fixing the economy?
Hmm a large corporation offering minimum wage jobs to the uneducated makes news? I see help wanted signs all over and people are just to well fed from the government that they don't want to get off the couch and get a job that pays less then there welfare check, I se a bunch of 16 year olds being the only ones who benefit from this.
You know, I had forgotten about that deal. I wished I would have went and applied for some type of manager position, but after hearing all the horror stories, I guess I am glad I didn't.Are these fights for McDonalds jobs a sure sign that Obama is fixing the economy?
I'll bet you'll love saying welcome to McDonald's rather than saying welcome to Wall-Mart wont ya.
McDonald's was one of the companies that asked for an Obama-care waiver.
Obimbo hasn't done crap for the economy except waste money.
no, it is a sign that private enterprise will fix the economy, not government
No. A bunch of $15K/yr jobs just to get by. Pfft.

Given that McDonalds created almost 60,000 jobs overnite, who is buying it?
Has America just become the largest "service Industry"?
Producing less and servicing more?Given that McDonalds created almost 60,000 jobs overnite, who is buying it?
at some point, you don't need that many people producing stuff. 2% of our country works in farming and produces half of the worlds food. technology takes over and there is less for people to do.
that fact that people have to work harder and longer to scrap by is absolutely ridiculous. as a society we could produce the same as we do now with everyone working 20 hours a week. take those people in mcdonalds and put them in a factory, split their hours in half, and let everyone cook their own crappy burgers at home. the SAME amount of stuff will get produced in that factory, and people are still getting their burgers, but one system takes 40 hours a week and one takes working 20 hours a week.
but our ****** up economy doesn't work that way.
It's really sad when 5000 people apply for 500 McDonalds jobs...
All the wealthy tell the unemployed to get off their butts and get a job - any job - yet there aren't even those McDonalds jobs...
All the big corporations laid off all their workers so they can use slave labor overseas so they can make huge profits for their stockholders and in turn the stockholders will increase the CEO's wages.
Until the time comes when finally, there are no jobs left but shining the wealthy's shoes...
We used to be a proud, producing nation. Now we're a weak consuming nation, but nobody wants to take responsibility for that, do they?Given that McDonalds created almost 60,000 jobs overnite, who is buying it?
Considering our education system is in shambles, I frankly don't think most of our young men and women are capable of anything above a McD or Wally World job.
Those are not jobs but hobbies. No one can live on a McDonalds salary.Given that McDonalds created almost 60,000 jobs overnite, who is buying it?
i need my happy meal, and i will do unhappy things to get it if anyone stands in my way!
The US has been gearing it's self to be a sevice country for quite a few years. It didn't just happen over night.

Would it be okay to wear my school uniform to a McDonalds job interview?
I have an interview for McDonalds straight after school on Friday and i probably wont have any time to change.. should it be ok?
And if anyone can give me some tips, that would be muchly appreciated.
Btw, i'm 15, if that helps.
Thanks.Would it be okay to wear my school uniform to a McDonalds job interview?
Bring a pair of black slacks and a button down shirt to school and change in the bathroom before the interview. You want to show that you will always show up on time and ready to work. If you get the job you wll have to change before arriving at work so start now. There are a lot of people much older than you out of work and seeking these jobs now so if you really need the job its time to put your best foot forward, Remember these things. Be on time and early if possible. Give a firm hand shake. Make eye contact. Breathe and don't forget to smile. Seek in every aspect of the process to be positive and you will be fine.
NO, don't wear your school uniform. It shows your loyalties lie with school rather than your job.
When you go to interviews, always dress 1-up from what you would wear to work. McD's may just have pants and shirts, but even then they're dress pants and polos (around here anyways) so they're a bit nicer... Try wearing Black dress pants and a cute sweater or button down shirt and dress shoes. You don't have to wear full business clothes, but dress pants, not jeans, no t-shirt.. something a little classier.
Make sure you know how to talk yourself up. Tell them about a time you took control of a situation, that one always won it for me (think it out before hand). Tell them about a time you resolved an argument. Make sure you have good weaknesses and strengths thought out... Good weaknesses are things that can also be seen as strengths, like being too friendly that you are ALWAYS trying to make people happy and can't just let it go if a little mistake is made (always trying to fix your problems), or you pay too much attention to details so you sometimes take a little longer to do things.
Good luck!
Every I've talked to that worked at McDs actually loved it because it's fairly laid back and your working with people you most likely go to school with... It's just the deep fryers everyone hates :P
I loved working fast food because such a variety of people worked there.i was never popular, but popular people would work there as well and you'd get acquainted with them by being teamed up on Drive thru or something with them...
:)Would it be okay to wear my school uniform to a McDonalds job interview?
It's better to wear more professional clothes for an interview. The uniform might make the employer think of you as a kid who is not ready for a job. If the uniform is all you have, then try to go with dark pants at least. If you have a jacket you could wear with it, then bring that too.
They know it's straight after school and you are 15. In my opinion it is fine, you will only be swapping one uniform for another! If you get there early and you are concerned, change in the toilets there.Would it be okay to wear my school uniform to a McDonalds job interview?
Well here in SG its not ok to wear school uniform.. i would say no. Casual clothes is better, smart %26amp; have good impression of yourself. Just bring along a casual shirt to change with.
Good Luck with your interview
I wound't recommend wearing your school uniform. Dress clothes, no jeans... no t-shirts...

I quit my job at Mcdonalds last week an have an interview at petsmart on Friday. My question was are most jobs better than Mcdonalds? It was miserable working there! Is petsmart a better job than Mcdonalds?
Yes pet smart is much better. That's my opinion. It seems like mcdonalds is very stressful getting orders from people who are dining in while also getting orders from the drive thru. Pet smart is better because it's more of a relaxing job since you are working with animal stuff :)Is petsmart a better job than Mcdonalds?
Yes because Mcdonalds is a terrible industry that drives our industrial food scale, which is a major cause of negative influxes in the carbon cycle. Stick with petsmart, it's better to work around cute animals then know you're serving chopped up cows that were living miserable lives in their own feces. Is petsmart a better job than Mcdonalds?
I guess if you prefer cleaning out fish bowls and ferret cages better than flipping burgers..each their own.

What are some unpopular/noncompetitive jobs I could find in NYC with no experience?
I have already applied to malls and brand name stores. Like H%26amp;M, McDonalds, neighborhood grocery stores, etc. These are all popular places for people to get jobs (McDonalds and other big fast food chains are included because people realize how hard it is to get a job). What are some salary jobs I could get in NYC with no experience that arent popular?
Do you think becoming a busser will be easy? What are some unpopular/noncompetitive jobs I could find in NYC with no experience?
Most of the time night jobs and overnight shift jobs are less competitive.

How do I quit my job at McDonalds?
I am applying for a job at Starbucks and I am unsure as to how to change jobs gracefully. I have been working at McDonalds for only a short time now and I really don't like the work, however I am a hard worker and I never let it show how much I hate the job. My managers and coworkers all like me, but I would really much rather work at Starbucks. What should I tell my managers about leaving them for Starbucks? I am a person who dislikes conflict.,.HELP!How do I quit my job at McDonalds?
If you want a good reference, put in your 2 week notice and tell them you are "taking another opportunity"
If you don't care about a reference, simply call in on a day off, especially if you have a couple of days off, and just say "hey I took another job and I can't work for you guys anymore" (if you use this option, don't go back to that store....ever)
You can say you are going to school and don't have time for a job, and that is usually effective. Don't mention you are going to Starbucks, just be straight and say you can't work anymore. Calling is the best I feel, that way you can end it quickly and that's it.
If you're honest with your boss at mcdonalds, they will respect you and understand. Be sure to tell them about leaving at last two weeks I'm advance. If they are not cool with it, they are then the one being unprofessional. If you're really a hard worker, they should try to keep you around and be respectful if you choose to leave. How do I quit my job at McDonalds?
Just tell them the truth, coz theyre going to find out one day, maybe.
Just say that u found a better offer, and that its closer to ur place (even if its not, just say that ) lol
annd say that its easier for you to be there, then mcdonalds. they cant like force u to stay or sumthing...
good luck :)

What jobs can i get, other than working at Mcdonalds, with a Bachelors in Political Science?
and a minor in psychology and Common law %26amp; legal analysis and a 3.0 cumulative GPAWhat jobs can i get, other than working at Mcdonalds, with a Bachelors in Political Science?
I received my undergraduate education at the University of Maryland, majoring in political science; followed that up with a Masters in political science at Virginia Tech. (In the process of applying to PhD programs.)
If you are talking about just an undergraduate degree, there are a lot of financial firms that can use you as an economic analyst that would be most interested in a political science major. However, it is important to note that you should combine your political science degree with a good background in economics and/or international finance (whether this is your minor or whether you simply take a number of courses in economics).
I've already been accepted into a Masters program in economics at the London School of Economics, so if I do not get accepted into the doctoral programs I will be heading in this venue. (My wife is already a financial analyst working for Fidelity Investments.)
There is always the route of state and federal government agencies. Naturally this would be one of the areas of potential employment that would prove to be most fruitful. State and federal governments are often more apt to look at an undergraduate degree in political science as constituting suitable preparation than other potential employers.
As you probably already know, when it comes to academia, having only an undergraduate degree is usually prohibitive with respect to employment in this field.
Hope some of this information proves helpful. What jobs can i get, other than working at Mcdonalds, with a Bachelors in Political Science?
Try a legal secretary, they make pretty decent money.

What happens if you don't have proper uniform pants for a job like Mcdonalds?
For a job like Wendy's, Mcdonalds, Dunkin Donuts etc.
I've been applying for jobs and I did some research that most jobs don't provide uniform pants. I only have jeans, a lot of black skinny jeans, and no dress clothes. So if one of those jobs wanted to hire me, will I be allowed to work there without the right pants? What happens if you don't have proper uniform pants for a job like Mcdonalds?
When I was doing that, we all just wore the right color of pants. So if you need black pants, get black pants. I don't think anyone wore jeans. If you are short on cash, go to the second hand store and get a pair there. No one will be the wiser! LOL! Good luck! What happens if you don't have proper uniform pants for a job like Mcdonalds?
You can find uniform pants easily and affordably at http://www.sharperuniforms.com/. If you're working in food service, you really need to wear the proper pants. It's the company's way of making sure everyone is clean and representing their brand in the proper way. Don't cut corners when it comes to stuff like that.

Can i work at two mcdonalds restaurants (two jobs)?
im 15 and i work at two mcdonalds do you think they would get mad ? im so worried plzzzzzzz helpCan i work at two mcdonalds restaurants (two jobs)?
Why would they its not as if they are pating you for work youre not doing they might even be impressed by the fact that your working so hard for their company. However if you are using two different names then this is fraud and i would advise against this.
They will have your name on a pay roll so they would have let you know by now if they where against you working at two branches.
99.9% chance they wont let you due to child labor laws u can only work a certain amount of hours until your 18 then you can work as much as you wantCan i work at two mcdonalds restaurants (two jobs)?
You would probably be allowed to, but there could be a problem if your shifts clashed.

Is a management position at McDonalds a plus once applying for other jobs?
It depends on what industry you want to work for. If you are going to work at the retail management level you want to do it in the industry you want to work in. If you are interested in the food industry, you don't want to be the manager or a clothing store and vice versa. You should always try to build your experience in one industry instead of going all over the place because one company or other pays slightly better. Is a management position at McDonalds a plus once applying for other jobs?
Yes, if applying for other low skill jobs. Not so much when applying for higher end jobs. Having worked at McDonalds is somewhat of a stigma in that mostly only desperate people apply there as a last resort.

What sort of jobs do you do when you work somwhere like KFC or Mcdonalds?
I was just wondering because i plan to work there over the holidays. What sort of jobs do you do when you work somwhere like KFC or Mcdonalds?
being nagged at, mopping the floor, cleaning the toilet, frying stuff, refilling stuff...it's horrible.this one kid left a full diaper on the floor once when my friend was working...she almost fainted. but hey! you can always be a cashier or a drive-through person. What sort of jobs do you do when you work somwhere like KFC or Mcdonalds?
Ahhhhhhhh.... Just the MOST degrading work ever known to man! ... I'm in health care now but when I was 17 I worked 4 mc.d's.... I was CONSTANTLY getting screamed at by customers and oh ya also by my manager who thought she was hot stuff being the manager at Mmmmm what age was she?.... oh ya like 45... Ya I really aspire to be a mc.d's manager at 45... What a glamorous life.. Mid life crisis, working at mc.d's yelling at kids all day thinking Im going to be employee of the year, making minimum wage. Dude thats like 25 dollars a day for putting up with ALL that BS that comes with the job..
OK so I had a really bad experience.. My answer to this question is simple.. Keep looking.Any thing has to be better than fast food.. anything.. I'm not in anyway trying to discourage you from finding work, but there has to be something you can do for work that's not as degrading as that. There are tons of entry level jobs in the paper. How old do I have to be to work a part time job at McDonalds?
I'm 13, turning 14 this October. I'd like to try to get a part time job and make my own money rather then asking for money from my mother. To be more independent, basically. So, how old do I have to be to get a job at McDonalds, what can raise my chances of getting this job, and also, if I am ineligible what are some other jobs I may be able to apply for? Thank you.How old do I have to be to work a part time job at McDonalds?
Some will take you at 14 some will take you at 16 you never know though just ask.
In order to get a job at McDonalds you have to be at least 16 years of age, and in some states you can be 15 with a high school work permit. I would ask your local McDonalds because each state varies in many of the restrictions that are placed on young teenagers that want to work. I will give you an example of the variations between states with the minimum wage, just so that you can get an example. Florida $7.55, California $8.00, and NY $7.25. So do not be disappointed, just go to your local McDonalds and ask. Maybe there is a restriction on hours, and not necessarily on age. Also check with your high school work experience counselor. He or she should have the answers you seek. How old do I have to be to work a part time job at McDonalds?
It actually depends on the state in which you live. At 15, you can work if you have a parent/guardian sign a waiver for you. Some states go as far as 14. But if you were to apply on your own, you would have to be 16 years of age - and that's federal law, which enforces "child labor laws".
you need working papers if youre under 18, but my friend worked there at 14. she worked the window and took orders. but i know lots of people who say youcant work there until youre 16How old do I have to be to work a part time job at McDonalds?

What jobs can you apply for online, like McDOnalds, for a summer job?
Thanks. :)What jobs can you apply for online, like McDOnalds, for a summer job?
Go to any business website, look around on the site for "employment" or "career opportunities" or "join our team".
They all vary but these are the places you need to go, to see if they have an online application option.
Usually your best bet for getting a job is going to the actual place you want to work, asking for an application, filling it out there, and giving it to them, then and there.
Almost every restaurant/Business has online applications. I'll find a few for you. :)

Why do people think everybody can always fall back on low-wage no-skill jobs when you lose your job?
As if they're in never ending supply.
People can also be overqualified.
Companies don't want to hire you if you're just using them until you get a job you're qualified for.
Everybody thinks they're entitled to these jobs or something?
I'm sick of people telling me that I need to go get a McDonalds job until I can get another accounting job paying $50,000/yr. Not everybody who's unemployed can just go get a minimum wage job.Why do people think everybody can always fall back on low-wage no-skill jobs when you lose your job?
...agree, that's why i went into business for myself and hired family and friends for tax purposes...
I know! I'm in college looking for a summer job and couldn't find one. I was told I was "overqualified." Ummmm, ok, but I'm underqualified for others at the moment so where does that leave me? Plus, they really aren't in abundance. I have quite a few friends that couldn't find a job for the summer. Why do people think everybody can always fall back on low-wage no-skill jobs when you lose your job?
Maybe they are getting two jobs, like one at mcdonalds and another one at a different company.
it really depends but of course, you are right and the people who think that way are weird and I'm very curious how they got that high paying job in the first place if they don't know this stuff.
You never know until you try and having a job cleaning toilets is better than having no income at all. Would you rather be a whiney bum, setting around complaining because you cant find the job you want? I mean, I know where you're coming from but assuming anything is not good. There are still people out there somewhere who are looking for legal citizens to work, who refuse to sell out and take advantage of illegals. I know they're few and far between, but they're out there. And even just *looking* is better than setting on your a** doing nothing. Why do people think everybody can always fall back on low-wage no-skill jobs when you lose your job?
i dont know but it seems like the illegals are having no problems finding work.

In my city there are no jobs (even McDonalds is full) what are some ways to make money?
Why don't you try to make money online? check out this website to have an idea:

When I fill out applications for jobs (for example Mcdonalds) why dont they call me?
I graduated from High School and went to a technical school. When I fill out applications for jobs (for example Mcdonalds) why dont they call me?
Dont apply there. If you have a tech background, apply to those types of jobs. Sometimes employers wont hire someone if they think they will only work there for a short time , until they find something better.
your over qualified. When I fill out applications for jobs (for example Mcdonalds) why dont they call me?
Do you hablo?
maybe you don't have the right look. When I fill out applications for jobs (for example Mcdonalds) why dont they call me?
I guess cause they have enough plenty of workers there ,probly later when some one quits they call you. Dont worry im going through the same thing right now and iv'e applied in 6 jobs so far.
My first answer would be cause you're over qualified and they need someone who won't leave in the first 6 months,
I may be wrong about the actual reason. They get 1000's of applications and only call a few.
With your education, I might try an entry level position like electronic assembly.
if you went to a technical school then did you get your certificate? Usually those who work at MacDonalds are high school kids with no career choice yet.
Maybe they are overlooking you because you have made a choice already and should pursue the kind of job you prepared yourself for. Or, maybe there are thousands of applications and they haven't gotten to yours yet, or maybe you weren't home when they called (why not call them and ask). Did you include good references on your application? Did you tell those people you were planning to use them as references?
When I was out of high school, had earned one higher education certificate, but was still in college, I had trouble finding part-time work. I think employers with entry-level jobs suspected that I would not stay due to being overqualified. I started putting on applications that I had been trying to find a job for a while and was sincerely looking for a stable entry-level position. I got two offers the first week I added that to applications. Basically, just use your honest communication skills as you have done here.
Call them.
they got better people than u..
try an employment agency
you'll find a job in no time!!
or
Be a MARINE!!
semper fi!!!
Hate to say it, but you have competition. It is not practical for a business to call a bunch of people every week.
Generally, something informal and unbusinesslike such as a "phone call" is reserved for the winners, and usually at higher levels of employment than what McDonald's can afford.
Good luck to you and keep at it. If all else fails, self-employment will do wonders for your attitude...(if not your pocket book...)
You are supposed to call them and tell them you filled out an application and wanted to see if the manager had a chance to look at it yet. They dont want to chase you, you have to go to them because it shows that you want the job. Otherwise, they may just not be hiring at the moment.
if u need job badly then go and meet manager and give ur application don't mention u are in technical school. just go through your application once again. if its typed then check spelling once again and do sign it. go confidently without any tension,
Good Luck.

Easy jobs to get for a 16-18 student to get. Similar to McDonalds?
I'm looking for a job, I applied at McDonalds, but for whatever reason they won't get back to me, so I'm just looking for anywhere that will take me on, because I need some money.Easy jobs to get for a 16-18 student to get. Similar to McDonalds?
Don't just apply at McDonald's, apply to every fast food place in the area. Also apply anywhere else you see young people working as cashiers. When I was 16-18 I worked in a restaurant commissary as a warehouse worker and at a Cold Stone Creamery as a cashier. No, I didn't like the singing. Sometimes the tips for singing those stupid songs would be up to $30 a week though, which is not much when you're older but at the time I was pretty happy with it. Apply to tons and tons of places like those and you'll almost definitely find something. Also, apply to be a table busser at every restaurant in the area and if you bus tables long enough you'll get promoted to waiting tables. A lot of people get their first jobs working at grocery stores. If you're not having any luck, you should volunteer to get some references and experience. Even though you're not getting paid, volunteering at a soup kitchen, a co-op, or a church is a great way to get references and experience. Think of it like you're interning. Putting a few months of volunteer work in the "previous employers" section of an application will give you a huge advantage over all the other applicants trying to get their first jobs.Easy jobs to get for a 16-18 student to get. Babysitting, shovel snow for a neighbor, cleaning house/ housekeeper, janitor, Walmart, target, jc penny's, khols, mall stores by you. Local pizza place, deli. Petsmart, home depot, Lowes, factory worker/ dollar store, packager. there are a lot of places. Good luck. I'm looking as well for a job.Easy jobs to get for a 16-18 student to get. My first job was McDonalds, one of the best jobs I ever had. What was your first job?
Burger King. I loved it!
I was still at school and when I was working I basically messed around with new friends at work and got paid for it!
It also taught me the value of the dollar, and gave me a good work ethic! My first job was McDonalds, one of the best jobs I ever had. What was your first job?
Bobs big boy,quite the education
my first job was at subway and i started working there may 2007My first job was McDonalds, one of the best jobs I ever had. What was your first job?
I assume you still work there?
Get off the WiFi and back to the fries!
Worked in one of those Pizza Hut outlets! The very best job I've ver had. Nowadays, jobs are often taxing and requires a lot of energy. Those were the days where jobs in fast food outlets were relaxing. Of course it helped that I stayed in a small town then, there were hardly one outside lunch hours! My first job was McDonalds, one of the best jobs I ever had. What was your first job?
i also worked at McDs but my first job was cleaning horse stalls, bailing hay and cutting and hanging tobbaco
Nordstrom. This is my fourth year working there, and I love it!
A place called SmorgaBob's, a buffet restaurant. For about three months all I did was bring food from the kitchen out to the steam table or ice line. Then one of the cooks quit and I learned how to cook large amounts of food. Not quality food, just massive quantities of food.
It was absolutely amazing to see how much food people thought they had to eat to "get their money's worth".
Red Rooster......i dont regret working there but it wasn't very good pay and the customers where rude.
But i have to say i had a huge amount of fun.
working the fields, and it sucked
Door to door voter registration. It could be a little scary at time but it was kind of fun. I got a free VOTE OR DIE T shirt, lol.
worked for a little corner store down the road from my house with a bunch of the best ppl, including my old boss n his family. The best boss you could ask for! I still go down n visit him every few weeks.
ah.. that was a good job. If you going to ask me what is my first job? I am working at the computer shop. I should monitor the time and I am the cashier also.
Working at KFC as a cook.
I loved it. Not too hard, great people, awesome boss! Wish I never quit, but had to try college.
